Comprising a screen made up of twelve lacquer panels decorated with polychrome on a dark brown ground. The front depicting a central pair of Chinese phoenix, or Fenghuang, in a verdant landscape richly populated with exotic Asian birds, including cranes, pheasants, peacocks, swallows, and waterfowl. The whole enclosed by a border depicting the Hundred Antiques and a myriad of flowers in baskets and vases, together with bands of scrolling dragon and lotus motifs.
