The top inlaid with a central spray within borders of flowers and vines. The hinged cover opens to reveal metal covered ink pots and a lift out tray revealing small pen drawers and sliding compartments concealing further secret coin containers.
This is an outstanding example of the intricate inlay work for which Vizagapatam is celebrated. The use of Macassar Ebony adds to both the visual appeal and the tactile feel of this magnificent box.
