Matched Pair of Kettle Stands Firmly Attributed to Gillows of London and Lancaster

Each with an octagonal top with a low gallery and beaded border sits on a triple reeded cluster column stem. The tripod base is carved with foliage as are the curved legs and the pad feet. Each bears an old label a hand written label to the underside ‘Colonel Stewart, Royal Engineers’.
These exquisitely executed stands were acquired from H.C. Baxter and Sons in 1963, one of the leading London dealers in English Furniture.
