Pair of Louis XVI Canapes



Circa 1770     

The canapes of serpentine form with serpentine show-wood moulded seat rails and high arched serpentine backs with swept arms, on cabriole legs and shaped feet.

The elegance of the form and age of the canapes most lend themselves to light occasional use.
