Pair of Walnut and Marquetry Commodini

Milan, circa 1820

Some recent Italian restoration and re-polishing.

Each top, side and front with circular crossbanded panels portraying neo-classical figures in rustic dress.  These panels are framed by further wide and intricate marquetry borders of classical motifs.  One commode has a drawer above a cupboard door while the other has a full length door enclosing a cupboard.

These highly decorative commodini are of generous proportions and will grace any bedroom.
