This mirror closely resembles the carving on several mirrors illustrated in the Life and Works of Thomas Chippendale by Christopher Gilbert, in particular No.278 ‘Pier Glass, one of a pair made for Sir William Constable’s house in Mansfield Street, London, 1774’.
