Collection of 15 Mushroom Groups

This type of didactic botanical model, depicting a specific species of fungi, was a popular tool for teaching science from the early 19th century onwards. They were produced across Europe. In France, models of mushrooms were particularly popular as display items for pharmacies, as traditionally pharmacists were called upon to identify edible and poisonous mushrooms for foragers.
